"We do not use the body to get into a pose; we use the pose to get into the body."
~Bernie Clark
Most forms of yoga today are dynamic, active practices designed to work only half of our body, the muscular half, the YANG tissues. Yin Yoga allows us to work the other half, the deeper YIN tissues of our ligaments, joints, deep facial networks and even our bones.
To get the best out of each class we will follow these 3 principles:
1. Come into the pose to an appropriate depth.
2. Resolve to remain still.
3. Hold the pose for some time.
Each session, we will rest in 4-6 poses to unravel the fascia and create more space in the joints. The sound bath includes waves of soothing, echoing sound from traditional wind, bowl and percussion instruments which may help relieve stress, fatigue and depression symptoms.
"Yoga is a dance, not a wrestling match."
